①Manpei is a Japanese restaurant specialized in Robatayaki BBQ,Hokkaido Grill Fish and Japanese Oden, Newly open in Magazine Rd.  Manpei is operated by Gokuu group.

Manpei is a new concept restaurant produced by Goku, popular Motsu Nabe restaurant in Mohamed Sultan.  Robata Yaki and Oden are known as tasty and healthy dishes.  And we serve various sake that go well with the dishes.  We expect not only Japanese but lots of Singaporeans and expat guests to visit us!

Urayama Satoru Fifty-five year old Urayama Satoru is a proud Hokkaido native and after spending close to a decade in Singapore running various Japanese restaurants, he took the opportunity to take over a friend’s sushi shop to open up Manpei. It is at this izakaya where he is able to cook and offer the common Hokkaido dishes that he liked to eat when living there. Manpei is also an homage to his late father who owned an izakaya called Manpei back in Sapporo. 

With the prices of importing from Hokkaido more affordable now, Satoru wants to introduce more Hokkaido ingredients to local diners, through a special menu that changes twice a week depending on what produce he is able to obtain. The passionate evangelist of Hokkaido produce hopes to eventually open up restaurants across Southeast Asia.

②GOKUU is a populalr Japanese restaurant specialized in Hakata-style Motsunabe restaurant in Mohamed Sultan.

"Motsunabe" is a popular dish in Fukuoka, or in it's capital Hakta.  Motsunabe is a hotpot made from beef tripe and other offal.  Gokuu is the only restaurant that specialized in motsunabe in Singapore and there are many fans who are not only Japanese but locals and expats.
